Tsunamis and hurricanes cause structures and wood pieces to end up in our oceans and waterways. They can travel thousands of miles as they get swept up in currents. Although once a living being, wood can tell the ongoing story of its existence. Of particular interest to me are pieces that show the scars they have endured, from their initial cutting or nailing to their ultimate demise by marine borers.
